Due to limited research, little is known about specific exposures volunteer firefighters face that could impact their health. The Firefighter Cancer Initiative (FCI) at the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, University of Miami used wristband sampling to characterize carcinogens in volunteer firefighter work environments.
